Invitation

The State of New Jersey is pleased to invite New Jersey companies to meet with a delegation from Taiwan in Trenton, New Jersey on Tuesday, December 1, 2009.  Focused on solar technologies, this clean energy mission consists of government representatives and business executives from major clean energy companies and research institutes in Taiwan. The Taiwan delegates are seeking cooperation with U. S. companies in technology transfer, trade, and investment. Please click here for a complete list of the delegation and company profiles as posted on their websites.

In 2008, Taiwan’s photovoltaic (PV) industry offered a capacity of 925 MW in solar silicon wafers, 2,410 MW in silicon solar cells, 283 MW in thin-film solar cells, and 328 MW in solar modules.  Taiwan’s solar cell output in 2008 comprised 12% of the global market and ranked the fourth in the world. It is projected that Taiwan’s PV production capacity can supply up to 40% of the global demand by 2010.

New Jersey is recognized as a role model for the nation in developing and applying clean, renewable energy. New Jersey's Clean Energy Program provides significant financial incentives and assistance for clean energy projects in New Jersey, which improves air quality, reduces dependence on foreign oil, creates jobs and enhances the economy in New Jersey. As of September 30, 2009 the New Jersey Clean Energy Program has supported the installation of 4,340 projects across the state providing 102.3 MW of solar energy.

We offer this forum for New Jersey and Taiwan companies to explore business opportunities for commercial and technological cooperation.  To register for this event, please send an e-mail to both [email protected] and [email protected], prior to November 25, 2009, with the following information: company name, address, attendee name, e-mail address, and telephone number.
