Invitation
We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2009 Taiwan-US Green Energy & Technology Joint Conference to be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York (TECO in New York). The joint conference focuses on US and Taiwan’s photovoltaic (PV) and electric vehicles (EV) industries’ development, cooperation and business opportunities.
A special delegation, consisting of about 40 representatives from government and business executives of major clean energy companies and research institutes in Taiwan, is seeking business cooperation with US companies specializing in technology transfer, trade, and investment. The delegation will participate in the joint conference.
According to statistics, in 2008, Taiwan’s PV industry offered a capacity of 925 MW in solar silicon wafer, 2,410 MW in silicon solar cells, 283 MW in thin-film solar cells, and 328 MW in solar module. Taiwan’s solar cell output in 2008 comprised 12% of the global market and ranked the fourth in the world. It is projected that Taiwan’s PV production capacity will supply 40% of the global demand by 2010.
In the EV industry, Taiwan owns advanced technologies in Lithium-Ion battery R&D and manufacturing. Taiwan has successfully entered the international supply chain of EV components. From 2009 to 2015, there will be 100,000 battery EVs (BEV), light EVs (LEV) and electric buses produced in Taiwan. In 2015, the annual EV production capacity will reach 60,000.
The joint conference is offered for US and Taiwan companies to explore business opportunities for commercial and technological cooperation. To register for this one day event, please visit the joint conference website for the latest conference program and the conference registration form. Please RSVP by e-mail to: [email protected] or fax: (212)826-3615, prior to Friday November 27, 2009. If you would like to have an one-on-one meeting with a particular Taiwan company, please fill out the “one-on-one meeting” registration form.
