The 2018 EITA Healthcare Innovation and Entrepreneurship Workshop (EITA-Healthcare Ventures 2018) will be held in the afternoon of Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, New York, NY, U.S.A.. The theme of the EITA-Healthcare Ventures 2018 is "Smart, Precision, and Preventive Medicine: Challenges, Opportunities, and Future Directions". The workshop program will traverse innovative technologies, thriving initiatives, and clinical case studies that enable the translation of precision medicine into direct improvements in health care. 

The main objectives of the EITA-Healthcare Ventures 2018 are:

  • to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world to present their research results and development activities in "Smart, Precision and Preventive Medicine in the Era of Big Data." 
  • to provide opportunities for the venture community to discuss, understand and evaluate the state-of-the art in cutting edge business and technology solutions. 
  • to bring together emerging and established entrepreneurs, current industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss innovation and disruption over the next decade. 
  • to help participants gain insight into the processes necessary for taking medical technology from design to implementation and commercialization. 
  • to provide participants with insights into the newest innovations in healthcare service delivery, information technology, biotech and medical devices and how venture and private equity investors evaluate and determine where to invest their money among these areas to maximize return, minimize risk, and capitalize on a highly fluid marketplace.

We would also invite you to submit proposals (invited talks only) for papers, panels, demonstrations, and SIG discussions. The Conference Review Policy requires that each proposal will be peer-reviewed for inclusion in the conference program and the electronic proceedings.

We are pleased to invite you (by Invitation Only) to attend the EITA-Healthcare Ventures 2018, to explore what the digital revolution means for biomedical research and the broader economy, to explore emerging technologies set to disrupt existing biomedical and healthcare industries, and their impact on our daily lives, to explore biomedical technology entrepreneurship and its relationship to the biomedical industry, to discover how to turn an innovative product idea into a new biomedical technology venture, to hear presentations from innovators and entrepreneurs in the biomedical technology field and to meet people who can help turn ideas into a reality.

    • Plenary Session 4: Precision Medicine: New Paradigms, Risks and Opportunities for the Pharmaceutical Industry
    • Plenary Session 5: Health Data, Information, Knowledge, Security, and Privacy

Possible Workshop Topics

The EITA-Healthcare Ventures 2018 conference is structured around a number of sub-themes that include but are not limited to, the following topics:

Proceedings

All paper submissions must be written in English and will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings (electronic formats) as well as on the EITA-Healthcare Ventures 2018 website. You may download the Proceedings through the Internet. These proceedings serve as major sources in the global high-tech community, reflecting the current state of the art in the disciplines.
