INVITATION
Dear Sir/Madam:
You are cordially invited to attend the “Taiwan Innovates into a Golden Decade” forum hosted jointly by the Science & Technology Division, TECRO in the U.S., TECO in Boston, and Taiwan Trade Center New York at 10:00 AM on September 15, 2010 (Wednesday) at the Mount Vernon Ballroom, Sheraton Commander Hotel, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
In 2010, the ROC (Taiwan) government works actively to bolster domestic economic growth momentum and improves the investment environment, particularly in respect of heightening incentives for private investment and attracting investment of private capital in public works. At the same time, the government steps up its efforts to promote the development of six emerging industries, four intelligent industries and key service industries, and budding ICT industries, to achieve the most advantageous reshaping of Taiwan’s industrial structure, and will carry out an array of employment-promotion measures, with a view to endowing Taiwan with a vigorous and sustainable new economy.
The value of the six emerging industries in 2012 is projected to be NT$1.756 trillion (US$54.8 billion), with creation of 450,000 new jobs in the process. Aside from promoting diversification of industries, the proposals represent a quiet revolution in Taiwan’s economic strength, aimed at orienting the infrastructure toward soft power and maintaining international competitiveness. The proposals seek to enable Taiwan to sell not only products but also auxiliary systems and services. In addition to increasing national income, the proposals are designed to raise people’s standard of living in order to create a better future for Taiwan.
Dr. Jin-Fu Chang, Minister of State/Executive Yuan of ROC (Taiwan), is leading a delegation to Boston, Massachusetts on September 15, 2010 to present "Taiwan Innovates into a Golden Decade". One of the many presentations that day will discuss Taiwan's industrial policies and your presence will fuel the plan with valuable feedback. Together we will create more positive US-Taiwan collaboration. It is a "must-attend" event (the program is attached).
Sincerely yours,
| Anne Hung |
