Next generation data center storage infrastructure refers to advanced storage systems used in modern data centers that leverage cutting-edge technologies like software-defined storage (SDS), flash memory, object storage, and data deduplication to achieve high scalability, performance, flexibility, and efficiency in managing large volumes of data, often with a focus on automation and cloud integration.

Key areas of next-generation data center storage infrastructure: 

  • Software-defined storage (SDS): A software-based approach to managing storage, allowing for greater flexibility and scalability by decoupling storage hardware from the management layer.
  • Flash-based storage: Utilizing high-speed flash memory for faster data access and improved performance compared to traditional hard disk drives.
